A poem about a house

House breathes in life
As it walks through the door
After a long time, far away

It notices little clues
Subtle hints about a change
From what was to what’s become

Two towels on the rack
Two tooth brushes in the mirror
Two sets of keys on the hook

Two pairs of shoes by the door
Leaving two parallel tracks
Where before, only one used to be

Ahhh that’s it, says house
This is what I’ve been missing
And smiles to finally be home
