Goodnight, my love

A poem about insomnia (or maybe death?)

I stand the shoreline
Watching the ferry leave
Unable to pay the toll
Unable to turn away

Wanting nothing more
Than to be on it

The dark shore
Of dark waters
Where sunlight
Doesn’t reach

Goodnight, my love
Until we meet again
I’ll be here waiting
On the other side
